“Thudu” – Musical Enthusiast Awards Ceremony
The “Thudu” Musical Enthusiast Awards Ceremony, organized by theArts Council of Sri Lanka, the State Music Board, the Department of Cultural Affairs and the Ministry of Buddhasasana, Religious and Cultural Affairs, was held on September 04 at 5.00 p.m. at the ‘Ape Gama’ Theatre, Battaramulla in a grand manner.
The main objective of this concert is to recognize and pay tribute to talented musicians who have contributed to the music industry by playing various songs.
At the event, three senior and veteran musicians, namely Harsha Makalanda, Nihal C. Jayawardena and Nihal Perera, who have contributed to the advancement of the Sri Lankan music industry through their musical skills in classical and simple music, were felicitated.
The musical direction and conduct of this concert was done by veteran music director Susil Amarasinghe and the announcing was done by veteran announcer Kelum Srimal.
