Literary Workshop – Sarvodaya Centre in Sathurukondan, Batticaloa. – 2026.10.23
A workshop on the precise use of language and the development of writing skills, organized by the Arts Council of Sri Lanka for writers in the Eastern Province, was held on October 23, 2026, at 9:00 a.m. at the Sarvodaya Centre in Sathurukondan, Batticaloa.
Key presentations were delivered by Keerthi Wellisarage-Chairman of the Arts Council of Sri Lanka and an eminent man of letters-along with veteran lecturer Nalin N. Kariyawasam and Siraj Masoor, a member of the State Literary Panel.Mr. Ashraff Ali served as the language translator for the event.
A large number of writers from the Trincomalee, Batticaloa, and Ampara districts of the Eastern Province participated in this workshop.
The workshop was conducted by Mr. Inesh Katipe Arachchi, Secretary of the Arts Council of Sri Lanka. Mr. Thanushan, the District Development Officer for Batticaloa, along with the District Cultural Officers for Trincomalee and Ampara, provided support for the organization of this event. Assistance was also received from officials at the Divisional Secretariats.
