Award winning drama producer; E. M. D. Upali is a playwright, author, translator, poet, lecturer, Attorney-at-Law and a Notary Public. He completed his Bachelor of Arts degree (Hons. Sinhala Spl) with a Second Upper Class from the University of Colombo in 1981 and the Masters in Sinhala at the University of Kelaniya in 2000. He also holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Archeology PGIAR (Merit) from the University of Kelaniya. Upali has directed 6 stage plays to date and has contributed a number of literary contents including a novel, a collection of poems, an adventure fiction for youth, 4 drama scripts and 2 collections of short stories. He is a visiting lecturer at the University of Kelaniya and a Practicing Lawyer since 1992.
