Mr. Mahdy Hassan Ibrahim was a keen radio listener since his childhood and had written several scripts and dramas for SLBC even before he became an auditioned radio artiste in 1972. He has taken part in hundreds of radio plays and other programmes over SLBC for several decades. He joined SLBC as a Tamil relief announcer in 1979 and was entrusted with announcing duties in Tamil, Muslim, commercial All Asia, City FM Services and handled Tamil Beam during emergency periods and was commended for his devoted services by the authorities.
He has produced several programmes and written stage plays, serial dramas, comedy sketches during the period 1980-2010. He is a commercial scriptwriter as well as a translator. He was awarded ”Kalabooshana” State Award in 2012.
