The award ceremony of the 2025 ‘Nirmana Yatra’ Literary Competition was held under the patronage of the Minister of Buddhasasana, Religious and Cultural Affairs, Dr. Hiniduma Sunil Senevi, at the Buddhasasana Religious and Cultural Affairs Ministry Auditorium in Colombo 07.
The winners who submitted poems and short stories in Sinhala, Tamil and English medium were felicitated here.
The Secretary to the Ministry of Buddhasasana, Religious and Cultural Affairs, Prince Senadheera, Chairman of the Arts Council of Sri Lanka, Keerthi Welisarage, and Chairman of the State Literature Panel, Kamal Perera, and many other dignitaries were present on this occasion.
This was organized by the State Literary Panel, the Arts Council of Sri Lanka, the Department of Cultural Affairs and the Ministry of Buddhasasana, Religious and Cultural Affairs.

A workshop for amateur Sinhala and Tamil writers in the country was successfully held at the Educational Leadership Development Center, Meepe on 27-28 December 2025. It was organized jointly by the State Literary Panel, the Department of Cultural Affairs and the Arts Council of Sri Lanka.
Professor Sarath Wijesuriya, Professor Mounaguru, Dr. Sunil Wijesiriwardena, Dr. Madhubhasani Dissanayake, Dr. Sunil Derangala, Keerthi Welisarage, Kamal Perera, Wasantha Priyankara Niwun Hella, Muralitharan, Dickwella Kamal, Siraj, and many resource persons participated in this workshop.
Mr. Muralitharan, a member of the State Literary Council, coordinated the amateur writers in the Tamil section.
Three Rhythms - Appreciation of veteran musicians - Batticaloa - 2025.11.23

Another step in the series of programs to appreciation of veteran musical artists was held in Batticaloa recently under the patronage of the Minister of Buddhasasana, Religious and Cultural Affairs, Dr. Hiniduma Sunil Senevi.
Veteran violinist Saraswathi Subramaniam, veteran mouth organist Kanagaratnam Sadacharam and veteran guitarist Anthony Sathyaseelan Bhaiva were awarded.
The event, held at the Swami Vipulanananda Center for Aesthetic Studies in Batticaloa, was attended by many dignitaries including Batticaloa District Parliamentarian Prabhu Kandaswamy, Chairman of the Sri Lanka Arts Council Keerthi Welisarage and Chairman of the State Television Panel Sunil Costa.
Arts Council of Sri Lanka, Batticaloa District Secretariat, Department of Cultural Affairs and the Ministry of Buddhasasana, Religious and Cultural Affairs jointly organized this appreciation ceremony.

The Galle District Workshop on Creative Writing and Correct Language Use was held on 2025.11.12 at the Galle District Secretariat Auditorium.
40 aspiring writers who had won literary awards participated. 20 creative writers selected from that group were also given financial grants.

The Ratnapura District Workshop on the Creative Writing and Correct Language Use was held on 2025-10-23 at the District Secretariat Auditorium, Rathnapura.
At the event, Mahinda Wickramasinghe, Sisira Kumara Mahagama, Manjula Rodrigo delivered speeches and informed the school children and writers who came.
The Assistant District Secretary and the Chairman of the Arts Council delivered short speeches and writers who presented creative works were given writing grants and prizes.

The Tamil medium of the Literary Arts Workshop Series was held on 15.10.2025 at Vipulananda Tamil Maha Vidyalaya, Palaruwa, Monaragala.
This workshop was conducted by Arulshanthan, External Lecturer of the Open University, and Deshaka Santosh.
This workshop, which was organized by Lalith, District Cultural Officer, Monaragala, was also attended by K.H. Dayantha, Secretary of the Arts Council.

The Monaragala District Sinhala medium Workshop of the Literary Arts Project Series was held at Navodya School, Pelwatta on 2025.10.17.

The Sinhala Medium Visual Arts Workshop, conducted under the Visual Arts Project Program series implemented by the Arts Council of Sri Lanka, was held on 2025.10.15 at the Royal College, Ruwanwella under the coordination of the Ruwanwella Divisional Secretariat.
The workshop, which was attended by 100 students, was conducted by Senior Lecturer Prageeth Ratnayake and Lecturer Chamari Tapaswarage of the National Institute of Education.
