Organized by:

Sarasavi Prathibha 2018 is organized by the Arts Council of Sri Lanka and the

Department of Cultural Affairs for students of National Universities.

Purpose:

In adsdition to subject knowledge to provide opportunities for university students

who possess unique artistic talents to present their abilities.

Applications are accepted for the following items in the Sarasavi Prathibha.

 

Common conditions for competitions

  1. Application
    1. Should be a student studying in a National University
    2. Candidate himself/herself should apply and applications should be sent before 30th November 2018.
    3. Every canditate should present his/her application to the Sarasavi Prathibha Coordinating officer in your University.
    4. A Candidate is permitted to take part in two competitions only.
    5. All creations presented by print media should be computerized only on one side of the paper.
  2. Conducting of competitions
    1. Performing competitions (Classical songs, Music, Dancing, Announcing, Short plays and Instang composition of poetry) are Judged at the university level by a panel of professional judges. The contestants will be selected in second and third rounds and will be eligible a third and final round.
    2. The candidates selected by the universites will be presented for the second round by veteran panel of judges selected by the Art Council of Sri Lanka and Department of Cultural Affairs.
    3. All other creations indicated below should be sent under registered cover to Secretary, Art Council of Sri Lanka. No. 212/1, Bauddhaloka Mawatha, Colombo 07 or should be handed over before 30th November 2018. Each competition should be written with “Sarasavi Prathibha 2018” on the Top left hand corner of the envelope.
    4. Receipt of creations will be notified to each candidate personally.
    5. The decision of the panel of judges will be the final decision of every competition.

Special Notice –

According to the request of the Coordinators of some universites Sarasavi Prathibha , inter universities cultural creation competition has been postponed until the first week of month of January 2019.

Until then please proceed with the acceptance of the applications and other campaign related to this program.
