State Visual Arts Advisory Board is established for the purpose of advising and assisting the Arts council on the general advancement of the visual arts and to support a vibrant community of visual artists, visual arts groups and organizations so that the public can experience the highest standard of visual arts, in Sri Lanka.
Visual Arts include a range of media such as painting, drawing, sculpture, printmaking, photography, live art/performance, crafts, Architecture, film, video or other digital imaging media.
State Visual Arts Advisory Board is functioned two ways to promote folk appreciation of the public through the achievement of the above aims.
- Direct activities for the Visual Arts.
- Intervention for the development of Visual Arts.

- Divisional Projects based on Arts and Sculpture .
- National Projects based on Arts and Sculpture.
- International Projects based on Arts and sculpture.
