Visual Arts Advisory Board

New members have been appointed to the sub-panels of the Arts Council of Sri Lanka. The information will be updated soon. (2025-01-31)

State Visual Arts Advisory Board is established for the purpose of advising and assisting the Arts council on the general advancement of the visual arts and to support a vibrant community of visual artists, visual arts groups and organizations so that the public can experience the highest standard of visual arts, in Sri Lanka.
Visual Arts include a range of media such as painting, drawing, sculpture, printmaking, photography, live art/performance, crafts, Architecture, film, video or other digital imaging media.

 

State Visual Arts Advisory Board is functioned two ways to promote folk appreciation of the public through the achievement of the above aims.

  • Direct activities for the Visual Arts.
  • Intervention for the development of Visual Arts.

Direct Activities for the Visual Arts

  • Divisional Projects based on Arts and Sculpture .
  • National Projects based on Arts and Sculpture.
  • International Projects based on Arts and sculpture.

Exhibitions, Workshop, Conferences and Publications are carried out under the above mentioned three categories

Intervention for the development of Visual Arts

  • Development of National Art Gallery
  • Restoration of welfare for the Artists
  • Establishment of a Museum for the Arts and Sculpture.
